We have a new year ahead of us, and we’re happy that you’re here with us. Over the holidays we got over 8500 new followers on Facebook only, and our community is also growing steadily on Instagram and here through our blog and website.
People are writing to us, asking How can I get the help I need to write my story? Who can read my story and mentor me in my writing? How can I support your work?
2017 will be a pilot year here on Write Your Self. We want to find out how we can best be of service and work for change, and we need your help with that.
How can we best give you a solid foundation to write from if you want to write, based on self-care and the gentle practice of exploring your subject matter step by step?
How can we best educate you in our methodology and equip you with the tools necessary for you to guide others in our writing process, as well as give you support in exploring the possibilities of making writing a part of your profession – what impact it can have on your work and on the lives of your client?
We’ll be asking you questions, invite you to share your thoughts and experiences, and continue to co-create this vessel that Write Your Self is growing into. Our firm belief is that having ownership of one’s voice and story is a human right, and that writing can be a tool for reclaiming it. We know you share this belief.
The launch of the Writing Program has been pushed back from the end of January till the end of March. Both the Writing Program and the License Program will open on March 31.
The main reason for this is that we want to develop and test both programs closely together. Laying a rock-solid foundation will benefit both our writers and our licensees in the long run, and we trust you’ll be patient with us a bit longer while we do this foundation work.
Our main target group, the people we are here to serve, is people who’ve experienced trauma, who want to write their stories and reclaim themselves, their lives, bodies, voices, truths and paths forward through writing.
And even though we are passionate about helping each and every one of you to write your stories, we know that we’ll be able to help many more if we also join forces with professionals who work with traumatised people on a daily basis. Ultimately, this is about empowering people to empower more people, creating a true ripple effect.
